A march showing solidarity for the Black Lives Matter movement is planned for Thursday, June 18 in Brigantine.

A Facebook post invites residents to join a March for Racial Equality, at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, beginning in front of City Hall at 14th and Brigantine Avenue and continuing to the 26th Street recreation field for a rally.

According to the post, the rally will feature speakers from Brigantine and the community. Attendees will kneel for 8 minutes and 46 seconds in honor of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and others.

The rally is planned to be a peaceful protest and organizers thank the Brigantine Police Department for their assistance with the planning. Everyone attending is expected to wear a mask and maintain social distancing.
