Man Shot, 17-year-old Charged Following Fight in Galloway

One person was injured and a 17-year-old man is facing a list of charges following a fight Monday evening in Galloway Township where shots were fired.

Galloway Township Police say their officers responded to the area of building #6 on Federal Ct. at around 8PM for a report of a fight involving several individuals and a report of gunshots fired. Officers say witnesses told them a vehicle had left the scene with an injured man that may have been shot.

According to police, a short time later, a man was at Atlanticare Medical Center-Mainland Campus. That man, identified as 27-year-old Jose Pacheco of Galloway Township, was eventually transferred to the Atlanticare Medical Center-City Division Trauma Unit for treatment of his wounds.

Back at the scene, an investigation identified the shooting suspect as a 17-year-old man who was arrested. He was charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. He was taken to Harbor Fields Juvenile Detention Center pending court.
