When Peggy Ramirez, a popular Spanish teacher at Mainland Regional High School died suddenly last Monday, February 17th, those who loved her looked for a way to honor her memory and to help her young son.

Ramirez, 32, of Mays Landing, had been a teacher at Mainland since 2005.  She was married and leaves behind husband Aden and two-year-old Jayden.

Within a day of her death, the memorial set up to benefit Jayden at YouCaring.com had 115 supporters and donations of almost $4000 toward the $12,500 goal.

One week later, the donation tally in the "Jayden Fund", as of this morning, was $9795. That's an amazing outpouring of kindness in a short amount of time,  that shows what an inspiration Senora Ramirez was to her Mainland family.

Another way to benefit the cause is the raffle being held by Bellyssimo 3D Ultrasound in Egg Harbor Township. Now through Friday, February 28th, you can buy $10 raffle tickets for the chance to win one of several ultrasound, yoga or spa prizes courtesy of Bellyssimo.  All proceeds from the raffle benefit the Peggy Ramirez Memorial Fund. Here's one of the many tributes to Peggy Ramirez left on her memorial fund page...

When someone touches your children's lives the way Mrs.Ramirez did it makes you feel forever grateful. Both of our sons AJ and Joey described her the exact same way. She loved everyone and we loved her.
