A 30-year-old Lindenwold man has been charged with murdering his co-worker during her lunch break after his DNA was found on the victim's body.

26-year-old Carolyn Byington was in her apartment in Plainsboro, N.J. on August 19th when she was killed, allegedly stabbed to death by Kenneth Saal.

According to Patch.com, Saal called US Engine in Princeton, where he and Byington worked, to inform his superiors that he'd be late getting back to work after lunch because he had car trouble.

But Saal's vehicle was reportedly seen near Byington's home around 2 p.m. the day of the murder, just about an hour after neighbors told police they heard screams coming from Carolyn's apartment.

DNA evidence from underneath the victim's fingernails came back as a match for Saal.

He's now charged with murder and other weapons offenses, according to 6abc.com.
