Rain, sleet, snow, freezing cold and sweltering heat. These are just a few of the obstacles that Letter carriers face every day, all to make sure the mail gets delivered.

The Ocean City Arts Center will debut their annual exhibit today. "My Letter Carrier" will feature over 30 artists from Atalntic and Cape May counties. The local artwork will feature some of the letter carriers who deliver to artists' homes. The exhibit will spotlight the hard working men and women from the U.S. Postal Service.

I suppose I'm biased since my wife has been one of those hard working letter carriers for over twenty five years. I witness firsthand how she freezes in the winter, melts in the summer and gets drenched in the pouring rain. Of course there's also the occasional dog bite to deal with.

The Ocean City Arts Center is located on Simpsom Ave. The exhibit is free. A meet-and-greet with the artists will take place at the center on June 12 from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
