Learning German at Cedar Creek High: A Visit to the Lite Rock Teacher of the Month’s Class [AUDIO]

The first Lite Rock Teacher of the Month's class for the 2012-2012 school year is Greg Ferree, a Language Arts Teacher at Cedar Creek High School in Egg Harbor City.  Mr. Ferree was nominated by a student in his.. German class, Eliza Kuc.

Thursday, I went to visit Mr. Ferree's German class and to bring a pizza party courtesy of Jack's Pizza & Steaks in Somers Point and Pleasantville. Mr. Ferree also won a gift certificate from South Jersey Gas and a membership to Island Gym & Fitness.

Eliza Kuc is the first student in the running for a $2000 scholarship for nominating a deserving teacher to be the Lite Rock Teacher of the Month.  Your nomination should only be about 100 words and  give a good explanation of what makes the teacher an excellent choice to be the Lite Rock Teacher of the Month.

Mr. Ferree's secret to teaching students how to speak German is to make the subject a part of everything in the class; to immerse his class in the German language and culture.  It seems to be working !  We had a fun time meeting meeting the teacher and his class and getting our first look at the newest school in the Greater Egg Harbor Regional High School District.  The school and its facilities are state-of-the-art and simply beautiful!
