Every Thursday morning at 7:15am on the Lite Rock Morning Show, the Humane Society of Ocean City brings in the new Lite Rock Pet of the Week.

If you are thinking about adding a pet to your family, please consider adopting from the Humane Society of Ocean City, a no-kill shelter recognized as one of the nation’s top ten animal shelters.

All of the animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped before adoption. All animals also receive an Alumni Card which entitles them to a 10% lifetime discount for veterinary services at the Humane Society of Ocean City clinic.

This week we met “Jynx and Simon” the cats.

Here is some information on Jynx and Simon from the Humane Society of Ocean City:

“Jynx and Simon are an adorable pair of 6 month old kittens. They were born outside to a stray mom that was being cared for by an elderly lady. She reached out to a local rescue for help. The rescue, not having space to take in the family, sent out a volunteer to help.
This dedicated person took her own time and money to trap mom, spay, house, and re-release her. But, she was now in need of somewhere to take two 8 week old kittens.

They were in need of some socialization so a foster home was found until the HSOC had available space. These affectionate babies are wonderful with children and adults alike.
They are playful and can keep each other occupied when left alone. They snuggle together as well as with human friends too. They will sleep in bed and sit on laps.

They would be great with other cats and with some time, dogs too.
Jynx is a beautiful female calico with white and Simon is a handsome male orange tiger with a white chest and feet. They would be a wonderful addition to just about any home. Moral to the story: don't wait for the stray you're feeding to bring you babies. Get it fixed! Contact your local shelter or the HSOC for help or information."
