The results are in and the person with the most internet searches  is... Justin Bieber.  He's number one on Bing's List of most-searched people for 2011, having dethroned Lady Gaga.  Justin is... the only male to crack the top ten!

I congratulate him, but, I should make it known, that I have played no role in Justin's victory.  I have never searched him, downloaded him, followed him, or really, until this very moment, thought very much about him. No, I don't have "Bieber Fever" as they are calling it, although I am bothered by a pesky rash.

I did see him perform once, by accident, while watching an award show on TV, and my first reaction was that he looked like he could be my paperboy or serving popcorn at the local movie theater.  I realize, of course, that I am not in Justin's target audience.   Who is Justin's audience?  My guess would be 14 year old girls.

This should serve as an explanation to parents of what your teen-aged daughters are doing with their time.  They are searching the internet for Justin Bieber.  You know that cell phone you gave your daughter to make sure she was safe?  She's using it to search for Justin.  Can't get on the computer at home?  Chances are there is a search underway for you-know-who.

You would think that an 18 year-old Canadian kid who got discovered on a You Tube video must have a lot to offer to attract this much attention.  From what I'm able to tell, you would be wrong.  But if I really searched the internet, maybe I could find out what all the hoopla's about.  Hmmm, I think I just discovered Justin's secret .
