Why should the Christian kids have all the fun?  Or, more accurately,  why shouldn't Jewish kids have a slightly creepy figure keeping an eye on them during the holidays?

A Massachusetts man has created a holiday alternative to 'Elf on a Shelf' for Jewish kids during Hanukkah.

Neal Hoffman tells WBZ-TV in Boston he created "The Mensch on a Bench," based on the character "Moshe the Mensch" because his son wanted an Elf on a Shelf like his friends.

He then came up with the new tradition so that his son could add some more "Funukka to Hanukkah."

The Mensch on a Bench tells the religious story of Moshe the Mensch when the Maccabees returned victorious from the war.
