I celebrated my birthday in the first two weeks of March and when I saw some of the photos taken, I went, "WOAH!"

These are the two photos that got me ready to be like, "Okay, it is time to get my health back on track."

But here is the thing, I am currently struggling with lower back issues big time. I unfortunately suffered from a severe herniated disc at 16 years old.

I have been "realigned" but this will be an issue that I have to be cognizant of and deal with for the rest of my life....and right now, moving and bending is an issue.

So I spoke with my chiropractor about what I can do because my physical capabilities extremely limited.

"How about intermittent fasting?"

Side Note: I am not doctor but based on explanations given to me, here is how I am understanding intermittent fasting.

In laments terms, intermittent fasting forces your body to rely on the sources inside your body, including the stuff that is stored. (aka fat)

I have never tried this form of dieting because my work hours are all over the place. I have gotten home from anywhere between 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM depending on what events and shoots are scheduled.

So I always thought, "How on earth could I have set hours of when I can eat if I never know when I am going to get home?"

So my chiropractor told me to try, "a flexible version of intermittent fasting."

One more side note: When I told my co-worker, Heather Deluca at SOJO 104.9 about this idea, her response: "Like 3 hours of pizza, 3 hours off? "

No Heather...no....

So here is how it will work.

My goal is going to be to fast for 14 hours per day. The start and stop times can have slight variances as long as I follow the 80/20 rule.

80% of the time, I need to be eating somewhat clean and healthy while following the intermittent fasting schedule. Protein should be a majority of what I eat.

20% of the time, I can let myself slip so BRING ON THE COOKIES.

So if one night, I eat dinner and am done with all by 7:00 PM, I can start eating at 9:00 AM the next day.

If it is a late day (which last night it was) and I finish eating at 9:00 PM, then I wait to eat until 11:00 AM. It's all about "eating math."

I am on day #3 of this thus far and so far so good.

So wish me luck!
