Where can you find a sign language choir, paper airplane making, a wind-chime band, and a quiet pet eating contest all in the same week?  Only in Ocean City.  The tenth annual Ocean City Quiet Festival, celebrating all thing quiet,  is running (quietly)... now through November 15th.

The original idea was to have a festival celebrating Ocean City's...well, quiet season, after the weather turns cool and the tourists have gone home.    Now, ten years later, it's evolved in to a week-long appreciation of the soft and hushed.  Not silent exactly, just quiet.

Poetry readings are given, walks in the forest are taken,  a bag of leaves is passed around for squeezing.  I'm not kidding.  If  all this quiet is starting to make you sleepy; to bad you missed the group yawn during the festival's opening ceremonies.

See the schedule of  remain  events for Ocean City's Quiet Festival,  but if you attend, please keep it down.
