A website is claiming Egg Harbor City is the 2nd "Gayest City" in New Jersey.

Roadsnacks did a survey to come up with "The 10 Gayest Places in New Jersey" and Egg Harbor City came in second - the only South Jersey city to place in the Top 10.

The Roadsnack editors say their goal "is to use data and science to determine the gayest cities in New Jersey."

Here's how they determined their list:

In order to rank the gayest cities in New Jersey, we used the 2013-2017 American Community Survey from the U.S. Census. We looked at:

  • Percentage of all households that are unmarried, same sex partners

We limited the analysis to non-CDPs that have over 1,000 households.

We ranked each place from 1 to 241 with the city containing the highest percentage of unmarried, same sex partners households being the most gay.

In the end, Riverdale ended up being the the most gay place with 3.71% gay households.

As far as Egg Harbor City is concerned, the website says their are 1,370 households in the city, with 46 being "gay households", thus making 3.36% of the households "gay."

Another Atlantic County city isn't on the expanded Top 100 list until Atlantic City shows up at #30 (with 0.7% "gay households.")

Absecon is at #41, Somers Point #48, Ventnor #76, Brigantine #87, Pleasantville #90, and Wildwood #91.
