The move to online classes to start the fall semester at Temple University in Philly was necessitated due to rise in COVID cases. School officials noticed an increase in active cases over the weekend.  Temple reported 53 cases on Friday and that number increased to 103 active cases on Sunday.

Most students showed no-symptomss and only a small number reported mild symptoms of the virus. The increase of COVID-19 cases were attributed to small off campus social gatherings by students. In- person classes will once again start on Monday, September 14th.            .
