There are only a couple times a year that you can walk your dog on the Ocean City Boardwalk and one of them is this Saturday (6/10) in a benefit for the Humane Society of Ocean City.

Join me and Lite Rock and dog lovers from across South Jersey Saturday for the Show Us Your Paws Parade and help out my friends a the Humane Society of Ocean City.

If you listen to the Lite Rock Morning Show with Eddie Davis, you know I dedicate Thursdays at 7:15am to the Lite Rock Pet of the Week, meeting a new dog or cat available for adoption from the Humane Society of Ocean City. It's a wonderful organization that helps so many pets find good homes. It's my pleasure to be the MC for Saturday's 2nd Annual Show Us Your Paws Parade!

The “Show Us Your Paws” parade line up starts at 4:30 p.m. (parade steps off at 4:45) and will proceed from 6th Street to 14th Street with contests for best super hero, best super hero dog/owner look-alike, best surfer dog, best bathing beauty, best dressed dog, most patriotic and best decorated wagon.

Judges will be judging at the music pier, and contest prizes will be awarded at the 11th Street pavilion as the parade passes.

Parade pre-registration is $10.00 to enter a dog and $20.00 for wagon entries. Dogs must be on leash at all times. Registration fee at the event is $15.00.

“Since any government funding the HSOC receives is less than 10 percent of our budget, fundraisers like this are critical for us to continue the important work we do for Ocean City,” said Bill Hollingsworth, HSOC Executive Director, Chief Animal Cruelty Investigator, and Animal Control Officer. “We certainly hope the community will turn out and support us at these great events.”

HSOC is a private, nonprofit “no-kill” adoption center that includes the Veterinary Center, offering affordable veterinary services and spay/neuter clinics to residents of Ocean City and surrounding communities. HSOC has been serving the community for over 50 years with pet adoption, veterinary care, and animal control services.
