It looks like the Polar Vortex will be a thing of the past as soon as we get through today.

Temps will start to rise and we may even get up to 60 by the weekend. The spring and summer season will be here before you know it... I've been thinking about the beach and the summer a lot lately. If you spend your summers on the beach in Cape May get ready to dig into your wallet or for a little extra green for your beach tag this year.

The City Council of Cape May just approved beach tag increases for the summer of 2014. Starting January 28th a three-day will now cost you $12 instead of $10. A seasonal tag now goes from $15 to $20. The increase will generate around $155,000 in extra revenue.

The City Council also agreed to increase the weekly tag from $15 to $18 beginning in 2015.

Some of the revenue generated will help beach operations, lifeguards, police, beach cleaning, restrooms and many others.
