Genuaradi’s in EHT to Close By End of Year

Sorry to report that Genuardi's in EHT and Barnegat will closing this December. Safeway which is the paernt company of Genuaradi's failed to find a buyer for the supermarkets. More than 150 people could lose their jobs by the end of the year due to the closing. Employees were told that the store on Fire Road in EHT and Bay Ave in Barnegat would be closed as of December 15th. The timing couldn't be worse with the holidays being so close.

Genuardi’s would be the second supermarket, after Pathmark, to close this year in the area.

Collectively, these two store closings are going to have a impact on the shopping habits in Atlantic and Southern Ocean County. Not to mention the impact on the employees who will now be out of work come December 15th.
