Now this is fitting, a snow moon is coming to wrap up one of the snowiest months on record for the Garden State. Fortunately for South Jersey, most of the record snow was to our north and west according to NJ.com. Although, we did see a sloppy mix of snow, sleet, freezing rain, and rain with hopefully the last snow storm of the month.

We'll kickoff the final weekend of February with a full snow moon. According to the website House Beautiful, the full snow moon will peak during the early hours of Saturday, February 27th.  If you're an real early riser, or have trouble sleeping, the moon will be at its brightest at 3:19 AM. The best view of the snow moon will take place on Friday night the 26th.

The snow moon gets its name due to the fact that heavy snowfall usually occurs in the month of February according to The Old Farmer's Almanac.

I am ready to say goodbye to the month of February and I'm so looking forward to spring and summer. I'm also ready to put away the shovel and gloves for good!
