From Margate to ISIS – A.C. High Grad Commander in Terror Group
Zulfi Hoxha, the son of an Albanian-American pizza-shop owner from Margate and a graduate of Atlantic City High School, has been identified as a member of ISIS and the spokesperson on a 45-minute ISIS propaganda video, according to news sources.
Hoxha, 25, was identified in filings for the federal case against David "Daoud" Wright, who was convicted last year on terrorism charges and is serving 28 years in prison. The Atlantic first identified Hoxha as Abu Hamza al-Amriki.
He appears in a 2017 video, calling on "lone wolf" terrorists to carry out attacks on targets in the United States.
"Liberate yourself from hellfire by killing a kafir," Abu Hamza al-Amriki said in the video, which showed him in battlefield fatigues and kneeling in front of rocket launchers.
NBC 10 's Ted Greenberg spoke with Hoxha's mother Wednesday and she confirmed that the man pictured in the video is the youngest of her four children.
Zulfi Hoxha was born in the United states and raised in Margate, where his family still lives. He graduated from Atlantic City High School in 2010.
The U.S. Attorney’s office and the FBI have denied comment on Hoxha and his participation in ISIS.
