The second Friday of October this year is going to be a doozy.

For those of you with sever “friggatriskaidekaphobia” – fear of Friday the 13th –
we pulled together some tips so that you're more probable to survive. Check out the tips, read up on the day, and from there, best of luck.

1. Know What To Avoid

We all know the typical bad luck charms, but it is super important to avoid them on Friday the 13th. I'm talking black cats, broken mirrors, ladders or umbrellas, and plus avoid spilling that salt.

2. Don't Hang Out Alone

There could be all sorts of ghosts and goblins lurking around every corner. Hanging out by yourself gives them the perfect opportunity to mess with you and give you a good scare if there is no one around.

3. Eleven Friends Only

Your company should not include more than eleven other friends because going around town in a group if thirteen is a recipe for disaster. If you dare to test your luck, I would not be surprised if you and your friends get picked off one by one.

4. Knock On Wood

If you are unable to avoid the bad luck, knock on wood. This superstition originates from the idea that if you feel evil spirits lurking, knocking on wood would have the mystical tree spirits protect you.

5. Courage is Key

You have to stay positive and keep that courage up! You are much less likely to experience bad luck if you steer into the skid and are ready to take on the day!

6. Get In The Spooky Spirit

Maybe, Halloween season is your time of the year. And maybe, Friday the 13th is your kind of day. So why not embrace it and watch scary movies and television shows with ghosts, goblins, zombies, werewolves, and who knows what else that is out there?
