Free Concerts: Atlantic City Boardwalk Comes Alive Every Wednesday Night
Have you checked-out the free concerts on the Atlantic City Boardwalk every Wednesday night?
As far as I'm concerned, this is one of the coolest things Atlantic City has going on this summer -- and it's absolutely free.
Every Wednesday evening right around 7:00, Kennedy Plaza (right on the boardwalk in front of Boardwalk Hall) comes alive with free concerts from practically every genre of music you can think of. Last night, it was an incredible concert from 70s and 80s rocker John Cafferty.
The city has built a really cool stage at Kennedy Plaza, complete with a small number of seats circling the stage (you're encouraged to bring your own folding chairs or beach chairs). Parking couldn't be any easier -- you can park under Boardwalk Hall for $5 and the tunnel from the garage to the boardwalk leads you right to the concert venue.
As the sun sets, the boardwalk lights stay off because as the concert is going-on on stage, the light show on the front of Boardwalk Hall gets underway, which becomes an awesome backdrop for a concert.
So, picture this: live music on the boardwalk -- with people dancing on the boardwalk, the entire front of Boardwalk Hall illuminated with a light show, and a nice seabreeze coming in off the ocean. It is a job very well done by those involved -- and, again, it's free and it's right in our own backyard.
