A rare piece of Bruce Springsteen memorabilia was thrown into a dumpster by a New Jersey homeowner. Her soon to be famous tenant would go on to become The Boss.

Meet Marilyn Rocky, who owned a cottage on 7 1/2 West End Avenue in Long Branch, New Jersey during the summers of 1974 - 1975. Springsteen just happened to be her tenant!

During his time there, Springsteen wrote one of the most famous albums in all rock and roll history, Born to Run.

The piano that Bruce composed the album on was autographed by all of the E-Street members and left behind for Rocky as a gift. The 'Landlordess,' as The Boss used to call her, had know idea she had a rare piece of Springsteen history in her possession and promptly threw the piano to the curb when she finally sold the cottage.

Someone now owns one of the most famous pieces of Bruce memorabilia without even knowing it.
