The election of Donald Trump as the 45th President of the United States was the biggest and most surprising story in the 2016 elections, but South Jersey voters provided some interesting local results in Tuesday's elections.

Here is an overview of five interesting elections results from South Jersey:

1- Ventnor voters approved liquor licenses for up to three restaurants

2- Linwood voters said yes to two questions. One allowing restaurants to sell alcoholic drinks for off-site consumption. The second would have residents vote for school board members, who are currently appointed by the mayor.

3- Cape May has a new mayor-elect. Chuck Lear easily defeated incumbent Edward Mahaney, Jr. 731 to 404.

4- North Wildwood will remain North Wildwood. About 60% of voters decided they did not want to change the city's name to Angelsea.

5- Longport residents agreed to leave the Atlantic County Library system, voting 240-149 in favor of establishing its own library.
