A hallway free-for-all Thursday morning at Atlantic City High School resulted in five students being arrested for aggravated assault after several school administrators and security guards were attacked.

Ten other students were charged with being disorderly.

Students had just finished PARCC testing when a fight broke out between several students in the hallway at about 10:40am, according to a police report on the incident.

When school administrators, including Director of Security Dewane Parker and Principle John DeStefano tried to separate fighting students, they were assaulted or spit on by those involved.

According to The Press of Atlantic City, one security was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medial Center for a back injury suffered during the melee. He was taken from the school in a wheelchair and was given oxygen.

Police and emergency personnel responded and the school was put on lockdown.  Several uniformed officers remained for the rest of the school day to maintain order.
