One of the most iconic toy stores is making a small comeback and opening its first store in New Jersey just in time for the holiday shopping season.

According to NJ.com, the former toy giant will open its first store this Wednesday at the Westfield Garden State Plaza in Paramus in Bergen County. "Geoffrey the Giraffe" will also be back and will help with the opening day festivities by cutting the ribbon to open the new store.

More Toys R Us locations will be announced in 2020.

The toy giant fist announced bankruptcy plans in 2017 and started the process of closing stores in 2018.

I'm so glad to hear that the beloved Toys R Us is getting a second chance. I have some many wonderful memories of shopping there for my boys at Christmas time
