I was lucky enough to get a private tour of the new Dave & Buster's, located in Blackwood at the Gloucester Township Premium Outlets off Route 42. And, I was READY FOR IT. Having grown up in Gloucester Twp., this is one of the most excited things to ever happen to the area. For a year and a half I watched as this new D&B got built, and then, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, have it's grand opening delayed, and sit empty. And, boy, did they give me the royal treatment.

I met with D&B's Blackwood's General Manager Dean Sholders, a South Jersey native himself, having grown up in National Park, Gloucester County. He showed me around the gaming floor, the prize room, and the bar and restaurant. I can now say, firsthand, THIS PLACE IS EPIC.

Unlike the Philly Dave & Buster's, this new location has all of its 40,000-square-feet, on one level, so it's super easy to get around. The gaming floor features 171 different games with 230 player positions. There's everything from Pac-Man, to PLINKO, to basketball, to Halo. There's even a 'carnival alley' featuring classic boardwalk and carnival games. Ooh, and there's a virtual reality experience, too that I can't wait to check out.

The bar/restaurant area boasts 41 TV's, including the 55-ft. 'Wow Wall'. I can just imaging taking in the Super Bowl there. And, I got to try some of D&B's amazing cuisine and cocktails, including the 'Dangerous Waters Island Punch' drink that was so delicious. Bartender Patrick also had me try the 'Green Ghost' which I LOVED, made with Crown Royal Regal Apple Whisky, granny smith apple, house-made sweet ‘n’ sour and Minute Maid pineapple juice, lit up with a glowing ice cube. I also noshed on Fire-Grilled Atlantic Salmon, a veggie-version of the Chimichurri Bowl, and Cantina Nachos.

DAVE & BUSTER'S MENU

And, OMG you can also grab a Draft Tower, filled with between 50-100 oz. of draft beer! They put a frozen stake in the middle to keep it chilled!

Take a look at some photos below of my exclusive tour of Dave & Buster's, and keep reading for more info, including safety measures.

And, safety measures are fully in place. Dave & Buster's will operate at only 25 percent capacity. They've removed 100 seats in the restaurant to make room for adequate social distancing, and there are no stools around the bar. You'll order drinks from your table. Also, certain gaming positions are deactivated to keep visitors safe, and those are easy to spot. For example, at the bowling game, one lane's kiosk is lit up red and labeled 'closed for social distancing'.

And, when you score big in a game, there are no tickets. Instead, gamers will receive a 'power card' that stores their accumulated points, which can be swiped in the Redemption Center for prizes.

There's a special functions room that can be divided into three or opened up fully for larger parties.

This Dave & Buster's location hired 158 employees for it's opening. That's 158 new jobs in the Gloucester Twp. area. So cool. Tonight and tomorrow is their Friends & Family, and everyone is very ready to get the practice in and show off their skills.

Dave & Buster's at Gloucester Twp. Premium Outlets in Blackwood will open to the public on Monday, December 7th at 12 p.m. They'll be open Sun-Thurs from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m., and from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. They're offering call-ahead takeout food orders, and QR code menus for when you dine inside. Call (856) 302-4930, or click here for directions.

Thanks again to GM Dean Sholders and the entire Dave & Buster's team for taking such good care of me today! I can't wait for my next visit.
