Famous Dave’s in Mays Landing Reportedly Closed for Good, Not Just Because of COVID-19
We're hearing that one of Atlantic County's barbecue restaurants has reportedly closed for good. If it's true, we certainly will miss Famous Dave's Bar-B-Que.
A colleague of mine, who knows how much I love Famous Dave's, wrote me on Facebook today to tell me he personally spoke to someone at the location in Mays Landing at Hamilton Commons shopping center, and that the decision was made to permanently shut the doors. They just didn't say WHY, so I'm looking more closely into that (and maybe hoping this is all just a big misunderstanding, :-( ).
However, when I clicked the link at FamousDaves.com and searched for the Mays Landing restaurant, it was no longer listed.
Certainly, attendance at the restaurant was compromised by the recent coronavirus outbreak. Many local businesses have been feeling the pinch, restaurants especially who've been largely reduced to serving take-out or delivery only.
Gosh darn did I love me some of their pulled barbecue chicken and cornbread. Famous Dave's Mays Landing often catered our Employee of the Month lunches and other get-togethers. I'd like to thank the staff for everything. You'll be missed!
