It's not often in a high school basketball game that you see a fast break end with an alley-oop, one-handed dunk. However, that's exactly what happened in Wednesday's win by Egg Harbor Twp. over Atlantic Christian.

EHT senior Carlos Lopez was out on the break, dribbled to the lane, and tossed a pass up for teammate Anthony Colon, who went up and caught it with one hand and slammed it home.

The Eagles are off to a fast 4-0 start after the 95-47 in over Atlantic Christian, with Lopez scoring 31 in the win.

"We're not remotely close to how good I think we can be," said EHT head coach Cameron Bell. The defense is carrying us right now, which is normal for the early part of the season, give us a month and the offense will catch up.  Then I'll feel good."

Lopez is the Cape-Atlantic League's top returning scorer and is averaging 30.2 points per game and has already connected on 18, 3-point shots through the first four games this season.

"Carlos is ice cold and keeps everyone calm and under control," Bell said about Lopez before the season.

"His confidence never waivers and it permeates throughout the entire team.  He was one of our hardest workers in the off-season and really sets the tone for the team.  I expect his senior year to be his best.  Everyone only thinks of him as a shooter, but he's much more than that.  He has great vision, finishes well with both hands, and has become a good defender.  His number one goal has always been to win and he wants that more than anything this season."

As for Colon, the 6-5 big man, returns after missing the COVID shortened 2021 season and has added an offensive punch from the inside, scoring 10.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks per game for the Eagles.
