At Monday's Press Conference, Eagles Head Coach Nick Sirianni's latest Injury Updates put in question the Eagles depth at the Running Back position heading into their Week 17 matchup with the Washington Football:

Jordan Howard's MRI came back good and we're hopeful.  I'm not going to put any timetables on anybody, but we're hopeful for Jordan. - Miles [Sanders] did break his hand and, obviously, he'll be out this week and then we will re-evaluate after a week. We are hopeful we can get him back at some point this season, so he will not be going to (the Injured Reserve).

Nick Sirianni is smart to say what he said about Jordan Howard because the Eagles described what forced him out of the game yesterday as "Stinger" and the last time Howard suffered that type of injury was in 2019 when he missed six games.  So Sirianni and the Eagles can be as "hopeful" as they want, but Jordan Howard's medical history is ominous with this injury.

So with the Eagles already ruling out Miles Sanders due to a broken bone in his hand and Jordan Howard's status at best Questionable, the Eagles will have to lean on Running Back Boston Scott and Kenneth Gainwell this Sunday at Washington.  Sanders and Howard's combined 1,134 Rushing Yards accounts for 46.3 percent of the Eagles' Rushing Yards this season.  Scott and Gainwell have combined for 535 Rushing Yards this season, just  21.9 percent of the Eagles' rushing yards this season.  The only "good news" is that Boston Scott has the second most Rushing Touchdowns on the team this season (five) and Gainwell has played the second-most snaps of any Eagles Running Back this season (251).

In other Eagles news announced after Sirianni's Monday Press Conference, the team announced that they placed two Defensive Ends on the COVID/Reserve List:

The Eagles are already missing their best Defensive End, Brandon Graham, who is out for the season, and now if Derek Barnett along with Tarron Jackson cannot clear COVID Protocols before this weekend, Philadelphia will be very short-handed on the Defensive Line.  Thanks in part to Graham's injury, Barnett has the most defensive snaps of any Eagles Defensive End this season (676) while Jackson has the fourth most defensive snaps of the position group (219).  Barnett and Jackson have also taken snaps on Special Teams, combining for 126 snaps this season.

If Barnett and Jackson are unable to clear COVID Protocols, the Eagles will lean on Josh Sweat and Cameron Malveaux with Ryan Kerrigan also on the Reserve/COVID List.  Sweat has the second most Sacks on the Eagles this season (six) but Malveaux has played just 34 defensive snaps for Philadelphia this season.  Even if Kerrigan is available to play versus his former team this Sunday, he is having the most unproductive season of his career with Three Solo Tackles, Two Quarterback Hits, and Zero Sacks.
