Every Thursday morning at 7:10am on the Lite Rock Morning Show, the Humane Society of Ocean City introduces the new Lite Rock Pet of the Week.

If you are thinking about adding a pet to your family, please consider adopting from the Humane Society of Ocean City, a no-kill shelter recognized as one of the nation’s top ten animal shelters.

This week we met Dreyfus the cat...

Here's some information on Dreyfus from the Humane Society of Ocean City...

"Dreyfus, brown and black tiger cat, came in to our shelter as a 1 year old stray in December of 2011. He is a shy cat that does warm up after a little bit of time. He would do very well with other cats. He would be fine with a dog that doesn’t pay attention to him.

Kids might be a bit much but if they understand he needs some quiet then he might be fine. He would love to have a window to lay in the sun all day. He would even like a lap after a bit of time to come around.

Please contact one of our adoption counselors for more information. All cats are up to date with vaccines and have been spayed or neutered. The HSOC also provides each pet adopted by us with a 10% lifetime discount to our veterinary center."

If you would like to visit Dreyfus or need more information about any animal up for adoption at The Humane Society of Ocean City, call 609-398-9500 to make an appointment.

To adopt from the HSOC you will need one form of identification, which includes your name, permanent address and proof of ownership (i.e., localtax stub). If you rent, written approval from your landlord is required as well as personal identification.
