Dragon Boat and Food Festivals, NJ BBQ Championship, Avalon 5 Miler – Weekend Happenings
Welcome to another summer weekend in South Jersey! Looking for a good time and for something to do weekend? Here's our rundown of summer fun events - Lite Rock's South Jersey Weekend Happenings!
Join us at the Inaugural Dragon Boat Festival at Bader Field on Saturday, July 9th starting at 11 AM. The festival will benefit Gilda's Club of South Jersey. The festival will include will Dragon Boat races, live entertainment, fun for the whole family, and a flower ceremony for loved ones touched by cancer.
Lite Rock will also be live this Saturday from 7:30 to 9:30 AM for the 36th annual Avalon 5 miler and 2 mile walk for Contact Cape Atlantic. Registration begins at 7 AM at the Avalon Community Hall between 30th and Avalon Ave. and the race starts at 8 AM.

NJ State BBQ Championship and Anglesea Blues Festival: 2nd and Olde New Jersey Avenues, and surrounding pubs in North Wildwood July 8th, 9th and 10th. Free blues concerts on the main stage along with cooking demonstrations and more.
NJ Baconfest: Saturday and Sunday July 9th and 10th from 11 AM to 6 PM at historic Tuckerton Seaport. Look for over a dozen food trucks featuring everything bacon.
Seafood Festival By The Bay: Saturday and Sunday July 9th and 10th from noon to 6PM at Dutchman's Brauhaus in Mannahawkin on E. Bay Ave. Proceeds to benefit the Maximilian Foundation and its efforts to strengthen children via character building programs.
