The self-swabbing tests will be given at no cost to anyone who meets CDC prevention criteria. Patients would register in advance for the test at CVS.com.  Anyone age 12 or older can get tested. Minors under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

With these new locations, CVS expects to have more than 4,000 testing sites operating by mid-October, according to a news release from the company. John Roberts, chief operating officer of CVS health said this was the next step in the company's plan to help with COVID-19.

“Since opening our first test site in March, we’ve been able to quickly adapt to the changing landscape in order to make it easier for people in the communities we serve to access testing.”

The basic procedure for COVID-19 testing at CVS will have drive-thru patients staying in their vehicles and following signs to the testing spot where you will be given a self-test kit and instructions by a CVS employee who will monitor the self-test process.

The company say most test results will be available in two or three days. The CVS store test sites will be opening in waves over the next several weeks.

There will be five local CVS testing sites, with three in Atlantic County and one each in  Cape May and Cumberland counties:

- Brigantine - 3313 Brigantine Blvd.

- Egg Harbor Township - 6103 West Jersey Ave.

- Pleasantville - 900 New Road

- Villas - 1501 Bayshore Road

- Vineland - 3629 East Landis Ave.
