CVS is becoming one of the biggest retail chains in the Garden State to offer the COVID-19 vaccine by appointment. Although appointments are still hard to come by, more CVS stores including South Jersey locations will now be scheduling appointments for the vaccine.

According to NJ.com, the 100 locations in New Jersey started to add vaccine appointments this past Friday. The pharmacy will also offer the Johnson & Johnson vaccine which only requires one dose. Depending on availability, you will receive either the Moderna or Johnson & Johnson vaccine when your appointment is confirmed.

South Jersey CVS locations include Absecon, Brigantine, Burlington Township, Delran, Glassboro, Margate City, N. Wildwood, Ocean City, Oceanview, Sea Isle City, Sewell, Sicklerville, W. Cape May, Ventnor City, and Vineland.

You can also call the CVS customer service number at 1-800-746-7287 if you don't have online access.

According to an article in the Wall Street Journal, the best time to check for availability to schedule an appointment at CVS is 6 AM. Also, be sure to fill out the questionnaire concerning your eligibility before trying to schedule an appointment.

 New Jersey teachers, child care, and transportation workers will now be eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine starting March 15th.

Now comes word from the Governor, that the list for those eligible for the vaccine, will be expanded even further starting March 29th according to the Galloway Patch.

The newly expanded vaccine list will now include the following essential frontline workers:

  • Food protection including grocery and restaurant workers
  • Eldercare and support
  • Warehousing and logistics
  • Social services support staff
  • Hospitality
  • Elections Personal
  • Medical supply chain
  • Postal and shipping services
  • Clergy
  • Judicial System
