Since Monday night, first responders in Atlantic City have been searching for a man who may have gone missing in the ocean.

Atlantic City Police say they were called to the 500 block of the beach, roughly in front of the Ocean Resort Casino, for the report of a missing swimmer around 9:00 Monday night. Responding officers met a family who stated they saw a man enter the ocean but he never returned to the beach.

A search last night and this morning by the Coast Guard and the New Jersey State Police yielded nothing. The ACPD also says they have not received any calls about a missing person, nor were any personal belongings found on the beach near where the swimmer may have entered the water.

The description of the swimmer is a white male with dark hair in his 40s or 50s, approximately 5' 10", and last seen wearing dark colored shorts. He also had noticeable sunburn on his torso.

Anyone with information about this individual or this incident is urged to contact the Atlantic City Police Department Criminal Investigations Section at (609) 347-5766.
