My wife and I have been trying to help my eighty-five-year-old Uncle get an appointment in Ocean County for the vaccine because he doesn't have a computer or a smartphone. We've tried early in the morning, afternoon, late at night and  overnight and have come up empty every time.

According to the NJ Department of Health, over 642,000 doses of the vaccine, and over 90,000 of the second dose have been given out in New Jersey as of January 27th. 18,999 vaccines were distributed in Atlantic County, 9,091 in Cape May County, 31,574 in Burlington County and 39,378 in Ocean County.

Now comes word from 6 ABC that the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine will be available soon at  Rowan College of South Jersey in Deptford Township in Gloucester County. Rowan College is one of the six vaccine mega sites in New Jersey.

According to a press release from Rowan, calls have already been made at emails have been sent to those in Group 1, formally Phase 1. The health department at Rowan County Public Health have administered the Moderna vaccine which requires a second dose 28 days or later after the first dose. You must have received the first dose at the Rowan site in order to receive the second shot.

The Atlantic City mega site for the vaccine located at the Convention Center  can vaccinate up to 3,500 per day when the vaccine becomes fully available. Due to the limited supply, no appointments can be made at this time. Be sure to check back often to see when additional appointments can be made.
