Clean Ocean Action is celebrating their 30th anniversary keeping our beaches clean this Saturday. Volunteers with gather at beaches across the Garden State  with gloves and trash bags picking up litter on our beaches.

Some of the most popular items picked up from the last beach sweeps include: cigarette filters, caps and lids, plastic food, candy wrappers and bags; beverages and glass pieces. Here are some tips from Clean Ocean Action: Dress for the weather, wear gloves, sunscreen and closed, hard-soled shoes and be careful of sharp objects.

Volunteers are needed at the following beaches starting at 9 AM:

Atlantic County:

  • Atlantic City - Albany Avenue
  • Oceanville - Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge
  • Longport - 33rd and Atlantic Avenue Beach
  • Margate - Granville Avenue Beach
  • Ventnor City - Newport Avenue Beach
  • Brigantine - 17th St. Beach, South
  • Egg Harbor Township - Longport Dog/Malibu Beach

Cape May County:

  • Avalon - 32nd St. South
  • Cape May - Nature Center of Cape May, 2nd Avenue Beach.
  • Del Haven - Sunray Beach
  • Ocean City - Music Pier - *
  • Stone Harbor - 96th Street Beach
  • Wildwood - Poplar Avenue Beach  
  • Villas - Village Rd. and Bay Drive
