Clean Ocean Action Beach Sweeps: Most Collected Debris List
The Clean Ocean Action environmental group just released the results of the most collected debris list and for the first time in 19 years there's a new number one item on top of the list. The group collected 453,000 pieces of debris in 2011 and for the first time in 19 years, cigarette butts drops from list. Smoking bans on most beaches led to the decline.
The Top 3 items are plastic pieces, plastic bottle caps and food wrappers.
