Hundreds of Atlantic City casino workers plan to march on the Atlantic City Boardwalk tonight in protest of casino owner Carl Icahn's role in the shutdown of the Taj Mahal.

Local 54 of the Unite-HERE estimates 1000 casino employees will join tonight's march and rally from the Taj Mahal to the Tropicana, which Icahn owns. The march begins at 5:15pm with remarks outside the Trop from 5:45 to 6pm.

If the Taj Mahal closes as planned on December 12th, it would be the fifth Atlantic City Casino to do so this year.

Trump Entertainment Resorts plans to hand itself over to Icahn in return for him forgiving $286 million in debt he owns. Icahn has said he would invest $100 million into the casino , but only with substantial state aid that so far has not materialized.

The union slammed Icahn on their website, "Icahn’s hostile, anti-union actions are unfair to workers, unacceptable to organized labor, awful for Atlantic City and disastrous for the state of New Jersey. Let’s stand up for all that we believe in and MARCH in solidarity with UNITE HERE Local 54!"
