Cape May Zoo’s Otters Paint Pictures for Guests

You can brag to your friends that you have your very own custom art piece painted by an otter from the Cape May Zoo. That sounds pretty cool right? This unique experience is one of a variety of encounters offered by the South Jersey zoo.

The animal encounters offers visitors a closer look at their animals while learning all about them.

Saturdays at 10:30 in the morning they allow guests to get close to their river otters. Guests are able to visit their den and learn all about the river dwelling creatures from their keepers. The experience also gives patrons the chance to help feed the otters.

Other zoos offer a behind-the-scenes experience with otters that allow you to feed them, but the Cape May Zoo steps it up with a custom art piece. Before going to your encounter, guests are encouraged to let the zoo know their favorite colors so the otters can make a custom painting to take home.

The encounter is for guests 5 and older, guests 5-18 must be accompanied by an adult. The otter experience is $140 for 1-4 people.
