If you're heading to a Wawa in one New Jersey County, you'll need to have an employee handle your food or drink order. In fact, this applies to ALL convenience stores in that area.  According to NJ.com, Camden County has banned self-serve stations from all convenience stores.

It has been mentioned that only employees are allowed to serve any food or beverages at any convenience store to help stop the spread of the Coronavirus.

This ban includes self-served areas such as coffee bars, fountain drinks, bakery cases, salad bars, condiment bars and anything similar. The county just announced four new cases of COVID-19 in their community.

“In the past week, we have not seen people taking this threat seriously enough. Crowded playgrounds and shoulder-to-shoulder lines pouring coffee at Wawa and 7-Eleven are not acceptable if we are going to get through this.” the county's freehold director, Louis Cappelli Jr. told NJ.com.

This, unfortunately, has gotten to a level that we've never experienced before so it is difficult for some of us to adjust to the temporary changes. The state of New Jersey is willing to take any precautions to stop the virus from spreading.

This ban on self-serve food is taking effect in Camden County immediately.

Governor Murphy was asked about this, and via NJ.com we've learned that he said he hadn't "head of this before," but the governor didn't rule it out as an option to combat the virus in the future.

Stay safe out there.
