A man from Pemberton Township has been sentenced to seven years in state prison for possessing more than 1,000 images of child sexual abuse and making them available online for others to download.

Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina says 57-year-old Guy Valachovic was sentenced on Friday. He had previously pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

Coffina says an investigation began in 2019 after his office received information regarding Valachovic’s online activities. He was charged in August of that year and taken into custody following the execution of a search warrant at his home where multiple electronic devices were seized.

In a statement, Coffina said, "We will continue to vigorously pursue every lead that is received concerning the possession, distribution or manufacture of child sexual abuse material. We are grateful to our law enforcement partners for the tenacity they routinely demonstrate when investigating these types of crimes."
