The Brigantine City Council issued a proclamation this week recognizing Beach Patrol Assistant Chief Mike Morrell for his amazing 50 years as a guard in Brigantine.

“Mike was instrumental with the creation of the junior lifeguard program,” Guenther said, according to Shore News Today.“And due to his efforts, the beach patrol has grown into one of the finest in the area. Assistant Chief Morrell served as a role model.”

Morrell said he was proud when his two children joined the Brigantine Beach Patrol and thanked his wife. “For three or four months on the beach patrol, I don’t see her.”
