Beware of Bogus Wristbands at Wildwood Beach Country Concert

The Wildwood Police Department has issued a warning about fraudulent wristbands being sold outside the gates of the Barefoot Country Music Festival this weekend on the Wildwood Beach.

Police say staff from the Barefoot Country Music Festival told them that concert attendees were arriving at the gates with wristbands they purchased through non-official sources. These wristbands were found to be fraudulent.

Wildwood Police say concert organizers are advising that you only buy your wristband from the concert sponsor's official page or at the gate.

If you do buy someone else's wristband, concert organizers say you should only buy it from a friend or family member to minimize the possibility of ending up with a fake wristband.

However, If you do buy a wristband from a stranger, you can verify that the wristband is valid by emailing info@bcmf.com.

The Barefoot Country Music Festival 2021 is billed as featuring more than 30 of country music's hottest artists and includes nightly headliners Dan & Shay, Zac Brown Band and Carrie Underwood.

The Festival, which opened on Thursday night, continues nightly through Sunday on the beach in Wildwood.  A bigger concern than fake wristbands for concertgoers might be the threatening weather forecast for this weekend.

Tropical Storm Henri is expected to pass 100-200 miles off the coast of New Jersey as a category one hurricane. according to Meteorologist Dan Zarrow. On their website, the Barefoot Country Music Festival lists the event as rain or shine and says that tickets are non-refundable.
