The dismantling of the northern side of the Beesleys Point Bridge began in earnest this morning. Crews started the process of tearing down the bridge over Drag Channel.

The project was set to go last week but was delayed due to stormy weather. Weather conditions were less than ideal this morning when work started and there could be further delays due to rain and thunderstorms in the area.

The northern half of the bridge will be demolished first with the southern half scheduled to come down sometime in the fall.
