Lyft is definitely stepping up their game.

The 'taxi-like' service will soon make Atlantic City and Philly the newest cities that will be able to enjoy the benefits of their Grocery Access Program.

What does this mean?

That residents living in food deserts or don't have a regular and dependable form of transportation will be able to get affordable rides to and from nearby grocery stores so they have regular access to fresh food.

The average ride one-way for a Lyft Grocery Access Program ride is $2.50 although that number varies depending on each market.

There is no word just yet on exactly when this new program will be ready and available to the public but the second we know, so will you.
