There was a scaffolding malfunction at a building in Atlantic City today that left one worker dangling six stories above the ground, requiring rescue efforts from the fire department.

There was masonry work being done on a building at Atlantic and Kentucky Ave., reports BreakingAC.com, and as a worker attempted to descend, the scaffolding remote froze, leaving him hanging by nothing more than his safety rope, and another trying to stabilize the scaffold from inside.

The ACFD Rescue One was able to arrive quickly and pull the men back to safety from inside the building.

Fire Chief Scott Evans said 'the man dangling outside a sixth-floor window had to untangle himself from the safety ropes that kept him from falling'.
