Every Thursday morning at 7:15am on the Lite Rock Morning Show, the Humane Society of Ocean City brings in the new Lite Rock Pet of the Week.

If you are thinking about adding a pet to your family, please consider adopting from the Humane Society of Ocean City, a no-kill shelter recognized as one of the nation’s top ten animal shelters.

All of the animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped before adoption. All animals also receive an Alumni Card which entitles them to a 10% lifetime discount for veterinary services at the Humane Society of Ocean City clinic.

This week we met “Arnold” the cat.

Here is some information on Arnold from the Humane Society of Ocean City:
"Arnold is a neutered male black domestic short haired-cat, about 8 yrs old. He arrived at the HSOC a couple weeks ago with his “step-brothers” Linus & Re-run. They were returned to HSOC after almost a year as their previous owner had visiting relatives who were allergic to them.

Arnold is the most shy of the three “step-brothers”; though once he warms to you he is quite affectionate and loves to rest in your lap and sleep in your bed with you!

Arnold needs a household which is low on activity and high on snuggles! He prefers quiet relaxation to the hustle and bustle of active lifestyles. Children are okay, but should be adolescent (12 & up) or older (visit depending).

Arnold will do equally well with or without other cats. He lived with other kitties, and enjoys their company, but he does have the confidence to be independent as well. He has not lived with dogs, but likely can adapt just fine."
