A fast-food restaurant that specializes in all things fried chicken is set to open their first South Jersey location according to NJ.com. Freebyrd Chicken will be opening soon at the former Checkers location on South Whitehorse Pike in Stratford located in Camden County.

Freebyrd chicken specializes in hand-battered and crispy fried chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders, chicken wings, and salads. There are two locations, one in Philadelphia right across from the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, and one in Washinton, D.C. The date for the grand opening of the newest location on South Jersey will be announced soon.

We used to have lunch at the Philly location whenever we visited my son at the University of the Arts. I love their Appalachian Moonshine BBQ Fried Chicken sandwich.

There are plenty of chicken eateries to choose from in the Garden State. There are over 50 Chick-fill-A locations in New Jersey and a slew of Popeye's and KFC locations all over.
