There's a brand new Halloween event coming to the Jersey Shore starting this Friday, and trust me, you don't want to miss it!

Here's 5 reasons to go to The Glow: A Jack O'Lantern Experience this weekend.

It’s good for all ages, and people who don’t like scary stuff.

I don’t do scary, and that usually means I don’t get to enjoy Halloween events because they focus on the horror/gore/things-jumping-out-at-you that some people like. The Glow is just the fun part! Walk through a trail with thousands and thousands of hand-carved pumpkins creating jack-o’-lanterns of all kinds. There’s the traditional jack-o’-lantern faces, some Jersey-themed pumpkins, and tons more! Halloween without the horror: perfect for kids (and big babies like me!)

    It’s totally unique.

Sure you can go to a haunted house or hayride, but this is something totally different! I mean, really, when’s the last time you saw a jack o’lantern pirate ship or 16-foot pumpkin dinosaur display at a haunted hayride?

    You can sip & carve!

That’s right, those sip & paint parties that have become so popular are going pumpkin! Enjoy a couple of glasses of wine while you learn how to carve your own intricate jack-o’-lantern from one of The Glow’s carvers! Plus you get a neat souvenir to take home after you walk through The Glow! (The Sip & Carve events sell out FAST, they just added a couple more, so get those tickets now while you can!)

    It’s a Halloween art gallery

You don’t have to be an artist to appreciate stunning artwork when you see it. Anyone who’s ever carved a pumpkin knows it’s not the easiest thing to do, and even carving a traditional scary face can be difficult. These pumpkins go way beyond that, as they turn ordinary pumpkins into a true canvas. It’s serious talent on display!

It’s the perfect way to get your autumn on

Rock your flannel and those new boots, spend some time outside with your family or friends in the crisp October air with an apple cider/hot chocolate/pumpkin beer and yummy fall-inspired desserts in hand, all while walking through the Enchanted Trail of illuminated carved pumpkins. It’s so much autumn in one place, you’ll feel like you’re in a Pinterest page!
