Eight Hospitalized Following a Hazardous Materials Incident in Hammonton [VIDEO]

Early details of an investigation are pointing to a malfunctioning HVAC system as the cause of a hazardous materials incident in Hammonton late Wednesday morning that left eight people hospitalized.

WPVI-TV reports the incident occurred just before noon Wednesday at Home Solutions Infusion Therapy on Grand Street South in Hammonton, not too far from the Hammonton - Mullica Township border. A representative of the Hammonton Police Department told WPVI-TV several people reported a burning sensation in their respiratory system. Paramedics assisted nearly three dozen people at the scene, two were airlifted from the scene, and eight people were hospitalized. Early indications say a malfunctioning HVAC system might be to blame.
