Weekend Happenings: Surfing Competition, Heartwalk, GildaFest & More

The Eastern Surfing Association's Northeast Regionals return to the 40th Street beach in Sea Isle City this weekend, with some of the sport's best young surfers... competing in this qualifying event for the Eastern surfing Championships.  Ventnor's 17-year-old Cassidy McClain, who has taken first place twice in the past five years, is one local surfer to watch. Surfing runs Friday thru Sunday and is being webcast live at www.surfusa.org.

My personal pick of the weekend is "Gildafest", the free 10th anniversary party at Gilda's Club South Jersey.  It's open to the public, ideal for families and celebrates a wonderful., local organization. Lite Rock will be there and I'm hosting. Friday 5/17 from 5-8pm, Gilda's Club South Jersey, 700 New Road, Linwood
